Ndamukong Suh Scholarship
Established before Ndamukong even knew if and where he would begin his own career, Suh donated $2.6 million to the University of Nebraska with $600,000 to fund a scholarship endowment providing financial support for an aspiring young engineer.
As a graduate of the University of Nebraska’s College of Engineering, he felt the opportunity should be allotted to someone who may not have financial means to provide it for themselves.
2013 marks the first year the scholarship will be given to a qualified student applicant. This year the scholarship recipient will be taken on a personal tour of UNL by Ndamukong and shown his favorite places followed by and evening reception to recognize and present the winner to important members of the university and community.
The Ndamukong Suh Strength and Conditioning Center
$2 million provided a state-of-the-art student athletic training facility, The Ndamukong Suh Strength and Conditioning Center, to house the nation’s best strength and conditioning program.
Nike supplies all backpacks donated in the 90 Backpack Attendance Program, partnered with the NSFF to cover all expenses for the football uniforms at US Grant High School (the team Suh once played for) and frequently sponsors NSFF events.
The NSFF gives back to Grant High School (Portland, Ore.), Jalen Rose Leadership Academy (Detroit) and the Detroit International Academy for Young Women to design and implement programming for students such as the 90 Backpack Program, Suh’s Scholars Attendance Challenge and Girls with Goals. Suh’s Game Day Experience is offered to qualifying students at both Detroit institutions.
